Our site name: In Star Trek, Scotty was the officer who always could pull a miracle out of mid-air when the Enterprise was in great peril. Scotty used the term "Aye Laddy" in moments of agreement and great discovery and in this spirit, this site is so named.

This site sees it's role as to help illustrate and discuss everything from technical systems, metaphysics (which means to "see beyond physics"), science, general discussion, political discourse and most certainly and highly valued; humor. We, therefore mix humor, science and political discussion in a unique mix to provide a rather unorthodox and different interpretation of events and information in the world.

Scotty was always a figure of good and a positive portrayal of the humor and drama of the human race and in his honor, we dedicate this site. For James Doohan, the actor who played Scotty so very well, we know he sails on in the Engineering section of the Enterprise and is doing what he loves best; making the engines run smoothly and pushing technological barriers aside... What is AyeLaddy.com about?

Star Trek has always been a vision of the good and imaginative side of the world that provided hope in the face of negative news and the onslaught of negativism that we endure in our current world. This portal is thus geared to discuss ALL topics we can find that discuss Star Trek and examples of the technological application of related ideas from Star Trek in today's world.

So, we troll the world, looking in all the corners of the World Wide Web, trying to discern the future. And when we find these examples of technologies that fit our theme here, we will bring them to you.

We encourage your own submissions and ideas here and are actively looking for them... Feel free to comment, rant, rave and laugh with us of course while we explore where humanity is traveling!

My unique view on things...

To start, I am half-Scottish and given to discussions about matters of great import and to do so with passion and no half-measures (pun). Many who know me in person know that I look at and balance stories and great subjects with a rather hawkish view.

What they do not often perceive until far later is that my hawkish views always are tinged with a positive view of either prevention of negative events or positive influence on events in the first place or how to effectively and positively respond to negative events in their aftermath. All of life is a balance with a tinge of weight towards the good if that is your aim or to the dark side if so inclined. It is my hope that humanity, as a whole, leans to the light and right in the world.

This site tackles a wide range of topical matters that range from politics to paranormal and the unique and most unusual of this strange universe we live in. I do not hold that Science has discovered *everything* as many so-called "rational" people seem to foolishly believe. Chasing after truths and questioning the group "reality" is so much more fun and frankly, interesting.

So, you'll see ghost hunting, frank discussions of life and all sorts of things in-between. Hang on to your hat and enjoy the ride ;>)

While I personally cannot know *all* of the dimensions of these complex subjects, I do know and have the means to discuss these subjects in a forum that confronts the factual realities and potential responses and penalties of action or inaction openly and in an understandable and useful array of forums and articles.

So AyeLaddy.com is a place to discuss these realities and also the lighter side of reality. There is much more to life than living in fear and it makes sense to discuss the fact that, even in these difficult times, life goes on and there is much that we have to be grateful for. Life is to be lived and it is a wonderful time to be alive. We sprinkle life in our pages and look to the wonders of our existence within and without and celebrate our world too! We also use humor and a certain amount of eye catching material to emphasize the lighter side of things and make no apologies for our use of these educational and humor-filled views.

So, we use Star Trek as a positive vision, to look past the limiting views of those who would hold us back and blame humanity because of it's mere existence. The future is filled with both wonders to behold and terrors to chill the heart. Humanity will persevere and live boldly in the face of these combined qualities and will do just fine. All we need to do is keep the faith in ourselves and get past petty political differences that do nothing but hold the status quo in place and keep people living in the past and not for the future.

So please do enjoy and comment freely. I will endeavor to respond to those who comment, but do reserve the right to refuse to respond to outrageous and damaging commentary or hateful dialog. Frankly, we won't allow hate speech here, so rest assured, only intellectual dialogs will be permitted and celebrated in these pages.
